1. Introduction
Paths SM (“Paths,” “we,” “us”) helps adults build better relationships — friendship, dating, and business networking — using numerology-guided compatibility. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Paths SM website and app (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy and to our Terms and Conditions.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, username, email address, password, and date of birth (required for age verification and for calculating your numerology Life Path).
- Profile information: photos, videos, audio, bio, city/zip code, interests, and optional details such as relationship goals, orientation, or religion that you choose to share.
- Content and activity: messages, comments, posts, winks, gifts, matches, events you create or join, Path-Tok content, and reports you submit about other members.
- Payment information: membership tier, subscription status, and credit purchases. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card number.
- Support communications: messages you send to our support team.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages and features you use, searches, profiles viewed, and interactions (e.g., “Viewed Me” for eligible tiers).
- Device and log data: IP address, browser/device type, and timestamps, used for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you logged in (including the “Remember me” option), remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account, memberships, subscriptions, and credits;
- Calculate numerology-based compatibility and suggest matches, members, and events;
- Enable messaging, winks, gifts, comments, Path-Tok, ePaths linking, and other social features;
- Process payments and prevent fraud;
- Moderate content, enforce our Terms and CSAE Policy, and keep the community safe;
- Respond to support requests and send service communications (e.g., password resets, billing notices);
- Improve and develop the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. What Other Members See
Your profile — including your display name, photos, bio, Life Path number, and details you choose to share — is visible to other members so they can connect with you. You control the visibility of many profile fields (such as orientation, religion, location, online status, and Life Path) from your Settings → Privacyoptions. Please don’t include information in your public profile that you wouldn’t want other members to see.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who help us run the Service — e.g., Supabase (database, authentication, and media storage), Stripe (payments), and email delivery providers — under contracts that limit their use of your data;
- With other members, as described in Section 4 and through features you use (messages, comments, events);
- With our connected platforms (such as ePaths) when you choose to link your account;
- For safety and legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our policies, or protect the rights and safety of members and the public, including reporting child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement;
- In a business transfer, if Paths SM is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings, your profile is removed from the Service and your personal data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, safety, billing-dispute, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, records related to CSAE reports are preserved as required by law).
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update: edit your profile and account details in the app at any time;
- Visibility controls: manage what other members can see in Settings → Privacy;
- Delete your account: available in Settings, or by contacting us;
- Marketing emails: opt out using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message;
- Cookies: manage via your browser settings (some features may stop working without them).
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, correction, deletion, or objection). To exercise them, email support@pathsm.com.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our Supabase infrastructure — to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
9. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has created an account, we delete it. If you believe a minor is using the Service, report the profile in-app or contact us immediately — see our CSAE Policy.
10. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
